Anxiety & Depression

"Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18% of the population." "An estimated 16 million American adults—almost 7% of the population—had at least 1 major depressive episode last year." - NIMH

Anxiety

Do you find yourself being overly worried about seemingly small things? Or maybe you have been going through a lot of stress lately and it’s hard for you to unwind?

Psychotherapy or “talk therapy” can help people with anxiety and/or mood disorders. To be effective, psychotherapy must be directed at the person’s specific anxieties and tailored to his or her needs. A typical “side effect” of psychotherapy is temporary discomfort involved with thinking about confronting feared situations.

Depression

Depression means more than having a bad day or a bad week. Most of us go through some blues at some point in our lives and that is completely normal. But “depression is a serious mental health condition that requires understanding, treatment and a good recovery plan.” (Source.)
